Japanese Cherry Blossom

In Japan, cherry tree is supposed to be the symbol of transience while in Chinese culture it symbolizes female beauty.

Playing on both of these themes, The Body Shop released a limited edition series called "Japanese Cherry Blossom"...

What's in it?

  • Japanese Cherry Blossom eau de toilette ($22). According to the company, this is an "authentic light floral fragrance". An appealing description, but personally I'd be more interested in using the second product:
  • Japanese Cherry Blossom Body Butter ($20). I am a big fan of body butters because I live in the cold climate and they never fail to moisturize making my skin soft and smooth.
  • If this is too heavy for your taste, there's also the
  • Japanese Cherry Blossom Purée ($13). This is a lightweight moisturizer that softens and hydrates the skin leaving it "delicately scented with the decadent Japanese Cherry Blossom fragrance". Hmm.. since when is being "decadent" a positive thing?
  • Then, there's the
  • Japanese Cherry Blossom Bath & Shower Gel ($11). This is a soap-free cleansing gel.
  • And last, but not least, the
  • Japanese Cherry Blossom Reed Diffuser ($24), a "natural way to fill your house" with the same fragrance. Personally, I'd my house to smell different from the scent I am wearing, but I admit this could be a matter of personal choice.

Overall, I find this limited edition interesting and appealing. The packaging and presentation are done well and I guess the "Memoirs of a Geisha" left a lasting impact on me. With that said, I'd probably not buy the whole set - just the body butter and the shower gel or the purée.

Hay alguna fragancia nueva de cartier?

Hi Kari,

I know last year Cartier launched "Délices de Cartier Eau Fruitée", which is a follow-up to their original "Délices de Cartier".

This one is lighter and more fruity than the original version.
