In Japan, cherry tree is supposed to be the symbol of transience while
in Chinese culture it symbolizes female beauty.
Playing on both of these themes, The Body Shop released a limited edition series called "Japanese Cherry Blossom"...
What's in it?
- Japanese Cherry Blossom eau de toilette ($22). According to the company, this is an "authentic light floral fragrance". An appealing description, but personally I'd be more interested in using the second product:
- Japanese Cherry Blossom Body Butter ($20). I am a big fan of body butters because I live in the cold climate and they never fail to moisturize making my skin soft and smooth. If this is too heavy for your taste, there's also the
- Japanese Cherry Blossom Purée ($13). This is a lightweight moisturizer that softens and hydrates the skin leaving it "delicately scented with the decadent Japanese Cherry Blossom fragrance". Hmm.. since when is being "decadent" a positive thing? Then, there's the
- Japanese Cherry Blossom Bath & Shower Gel ($11). This is a soap-free cleansing gel. And last, but not least, the
- Japanese Cherry Blossom Reed Diffuser ($24), a "natural way to fill your house" with the same fragrance. Personally, I'd my house to smell different from the scent I am wearing, but I admit this could be a matter of personal choice.
Overall, I find this limited edition interesting and appealing. The packaging and presentation are done well and I guess the "Memoirs of a Geisha" left a lasting impact on me. With that said, I'd probably not buy the whole set - just the body butter and the shower gel or the purée.
Hay alguna fragancia nueva de cartier?
Hi Kari,
I know last year Cartier launched "Délices de Cartier Eau Fruitée", which is a follow-up to their original "Délices de Cartier".
This one is lighter and more fruity than the original version.
