Armani's look for the Spring 2008 season is all about "nude skin tone". To me, it looks very natural, discreet and elegant... Name notwithstanding, I wouldn't be afraid to wear it to work, although I think a more appropriate setting might be a dinner party.
Even though the result is very natural, the look does involve using around ten products at a total cost of about $300. The time required to apply is also fairly long...
How does it work (according to Armani's makeup artists)? The process
may seem complicated, but I wanted you to at least have an idea of the
steps required for the complete look. Check the illustration below
for the key products to be used - I marked them with letters A through F.
- Start by applying Luminous Silk Foundation [A] (choose one to match your skin tone.. in this picture the model is using Foundation 4)
- Use High Precision Retouch [B] as you magic wand to make all imperfections go away.
- Apply new luminous silk powder (the model is using #4) with a face brush
- And, for your face, add Radiant Pigments Fluid Sheer [C] (which is a long name for "blush" - the model is using limited edition #17)
Onto the eyes...
- Apply Smooth Silk Eye Pencil [E] (again, there are different shades... the model is using #5) to the outer third of the lash line and blend in.
- Apply Maestro Eye Shadow #19 [D] (limited edition) to the crease and Maestro Eye Shadow #15 to the inner corner of the eye and above the crease and finally maestro eye shadow #1 to highlight the arch of the eyebrows and blend all shadows together.
- Apply a coat of maestro mascara #2 is to the lashes (or your favorite mascara if you don't want to buy the whole set).
- For the lower eyelid, apply Smooth Silk Eye Pencil #5 to the outer third of the lash line and blend. Apply Maestro Eye Shadow #19 (limited edition) to the lash line and apply Maestro Eye Shadow #15 to the inner corner of the eye, smudging it with the eye contour brush.
- Sculpt the eyebrows with eyebrow gel #2 (start by brushing them upwards and then smooth the upper brow line)
And now, onto the lips...
- Apply ArmaniSilk 67 [F] (limited edition), followed by a little bit of lip shimmer 49 (limited edition) to create the pouty mouth effect.
Now, you can wear this to work... if you're willing to wake up an hour earlier...
