PlantLove: Lipstick With a Conscience

I'll be frank with you: I am a big fan of both lipstick and ecology. Combine the two and you have my attention (actually, puppies will work, too).

The folks at Cargo Cosmetics did just that: they launched their PlantLove lipstick collection which not only uses natural materials for the product and packaging (resulting in less greenhouse gases), but also promises to donate $2 from each lipstick sold to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital...

The formula is based on the Orchid Complex™, meadow-foam seed oil, jojoba and shea butter without any mineral oils or petroleum-based ingredients. But wait, it gets cooler! Wildflower seeds are embedded in the box paper, so if you moisten and plant it, they will grow!

Ok, all that was to appeal to your ecological conscience. What about the colors?

Some celebrities have agreed to lend their names to this project and designed their own lipstick color. So, you can wear a lipstick by: Evangeline Lilly (hmm.. don't know her), Maria Menounos (don't know her, either), Mariska Hargitay (who?), Sarah Chalke (the girl from "Scrubs"), Lindsay Lohan (you sure you want to wear that lipstick??) and Courtney Cox (ok, I like her) are some of them. I have to say this whole celebrity name game is simply not my cup of tea. But the rest of the colors are inspired by places of natural beauty and actually look nice.

The price of a PlantLove lipstick is 20 green ones (sorry, couldn't resist the pun)
